Months of prep and many sleepless nights as well as multiple people created the 3rd annual festival, Challenges were faced and overcome in many things but we learned from them and will move to concur bigger things in the future. The whole weekend is a blur in a way a still haze of glitter and sequins came over me to say how happy i was with how the festival was taken care of and how many people attended it and loved being there. I have to say i was so proud of this years teams all do with had minimal issues we had to take care of during the production i have to say from the point of start to finish this had to be the most interesting loving group of people that gathered for our state wide community. I have the best memories of hugging new friends and old family, the performers were on point both night and have to say the room was torn apart with talent that we were honored to host from all over the world. This would have not been possible if it was not for the support of our sponsors, These people believed in us an supported us in many ways that we are eternally grateful to them. This was a large project as our festival had grown to 2 amazing nights, The challenges were there but we moved thru them quickly. This is me (images by Eric Paul Owens) I spoke to the performers both nights and i have to say the mix of people is what made me very pleased the nationalities, the colors of the rainbow they were truly beautiful to gaze upon. You have all these men and woman doing you the honor of attending your festival in performing in your festival that i have to say it really did humble me in a great way to see them before and after show! Both shows were energetic but one longer then the other, but the acts were amazing! I have to say for the first 2 days festival this was amazing. Very please. There was some issues with a friday night presenter but those were solved, We moved on with out the particular character in question and look into our bright future as a festival. I have to say that Mizter Scratch was a god sent this year not only did he keep it moving and was nothing but a class act from head to toe. I have alot of respect for this man and i feel there is alot to learn from him and i look forward to learning anything he has to teach. As a producer of a large festival you must learn to let go of things and let others take over, this was and has been a hard lesson for me since i want everything to be perfect in such a way that i cant just do one thing at a time. Being the head director is not easy but is a challenge i welcome. I remember when i worked with pride Todd Saporito told me "you can do this i have faith you will pull it together" As a Festival Logistics Director for the 25th annual Cleveland Pride Parade and Festival this was a tall order ... actually giant! but this showed me that i can infact change my ways of learning and organization that is why i think this year went smoother then last. It was so surreal to have it go so quickly here you work your self half to death for a week and before then months and then .... its over... nothing more to plan the next show. Another thing that highlighted my evenings was the thoughts of these three, They have grown so much from left to right Eliza Sidecar, Ava Adore and Doll Bambino. Thru the years i have seen my good share of woman come and go to the world of burlesque but these three have stayed and grown ... They Thrive in it! They are some of the best people i have had the pleasure of working with. Ava is now a year old burly q... this made me very happy to see my girls go forth and grow spread their wings and more at the speed of light. I am a very proud burly mama! Its rare for me to see her so chill, Twiggy Stardust being epic just chilling... I have to tell you this woman is a big inspiration for me not to mention and amazing friend, There is nothing like having this woman around you to make you feel like you have done nothing in your day at all with her busy schedule. She has taught me alot thru her time in Le Femme again she has made me super proud of her growth! I remember when i first met this woman and i find my self reminded of "Strong Willed Woman" this is one of them. This woman i can't live with out, Constantinople took a large role as Assistant Producer and man did she nail it! This woman her self can do many thing and i have to say as a sister, business partner and friend i could not survive this festival with out her! She did so much for this city that very weekend i dont think i had the time to say thank you multiple times. I love her very much and i have to say her help in the board of directors for both taking lead on the Remarkable Memory Project with me and The Buckeye Awards has been the most amazing partnership ever! Now when you speak of people devoted to their jobs you can't not mention this woman, Tennie Novak is our stage manager for the night for the last 3 years. There is nothing more amazing then this woman in my eyes. There is no way i can explain her amazing beautiful work ethic and the fact that she is more then an amazing person. she worked hard and kicked logistical butt. Thank you so much for being family. Sonshine our house mom! There is nothing like a drag queen to keep things going !
This was a community effort many many people from all over the world came together to make this a reality, this is a work of love and art in so many ways we are lucky to have this in Cleveland, Ohio. I will like to thank every single person that came to give this festival a push forward, Performers, Kittens, Staff, Directors, Friends, Family, Co- Workers, Applicants, Fans, The City, Facebook friends, The State and you the reader. Thank you so much and I LOVE YOU!
